CSMONTH copyPRIME MINISTER STEPHEN HARPER ANNOUNCES JANUARY IS CRIME STOPPERS MONTH!

2010 starts with a message from the Prime Minister’s office commending the work of more than 100 community based Crime Stopper programs across Canada. Specifically, the Prime Minister points to the greater than 200,000 cases cleared with the assistance of Crime Stoppers.

Closer to home, Crime Stoppers of Northwest Ontario and Northern Minnesota works hand-in-hand with the citizens of Northwest Ontario and Northern Minnesota acting as a bridge to allow that public to communicate anonymously with more than a dozen police agencies in our region. To date, the program has cleared:

  • 7.5 MILLION dollars worth of stolen property, drugs and weapons removed from our communities
  • 6.5 MILLION dollars of drugs taken from our communities and schools
  • Almost $1 Million dollars worth of property recovered
  • 53 Weapons recovered
  • 1500 arrests
  • 2,200 charges laid
  • 40,000 anonymous tips and calls and the number is growing year over year.

Stephen HarperCrime Stoppers relies heavily on our sponsors and partners and our program’s success is contingent on the generous consideration given us by our media partners and corporate donations.  If you are able to help us out with a small donation, we’ll happily send you a receipt for any contribution.
