Crime Stoppers’ First Quarter Results

The first three months of 2010 show tremendous growth for Crime Stoppers of Northwestern Ontario and Northern Minnesota.

With the first quarter of 2010 behind us, Crime Stoppers of Northwestern Ontario and Northern Minnesota continues to post impressive numbers.  With solid increases in January, February and March the first quarter statistics show steady increases in the number of calls and the frequency with which those tips are paying off.

We’ve noticed the number of tips received steadily increasing; however, the amount of money being paid out, the number of arrests made and the amount of illegal property recovered is increasing at a much faster rate.  As the program is based on anonymity and we cannot confirm this, it certainly suggests the information we receive is being managed better and the pipeline to our police partners couldn’t be stronger.

Key in this success is our ability to promote a message and our media partners continue to be most kind.  Equally, our relationship with sponsors is vital in the delivery of the Crime Stoppers program.  Please take a few minutes to browse through the long list of organizations assisting us in keeping our communities a little safer.  You can also lend a hand with a donation and by joining us on Facebook.

Crime Stoppers is a citizen, media and police co-operative program designed to involve the public in the fight against crime. Crime Stoppers will provide citizens with a vehicle to anonymously supply the police with information to a crime they may have knowingly witnessed or a crime or potential crime to which they may have knowledge.

Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
