The increases come on heels of Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s announcement that January 2010 was “Crime Stoppers Month” (see: January is Crime Stopper’s Month). Nationally, this meant an increase in exposure for every program. Locally, media outlets and police partners continued to promote a message of safe communities, being aware of your neighbourhoods and reporting any situations that look suspicious.

Looking ahead, Crime Stoppers of Northwestern Ontario and Northern Minnesota has some aggressive plans and it includes novel ways to promote our message and provide ways for individuals to keep their families and communities safe. Crime Stoppers is counting on your continued support as we grow and improve. With better numbers and more arrests…comes higher costs and we’re hopeful you can help us out. Crime Stoppers truly appreciates any donation and we’ll happily send along a receipt for income tax purposes. A donation to Crime Stoppers is made securely through the link on the right…or by clicking HERE.

A special thank you to the dedicated individuals in law enforcement, the many people who tirelessly volunteer their time and resources and Crime Stoppers owes a specific debt to our media partners and corporate sponsors who help keep our program effective and healthy. Links to all can be found on our site.

Elliott, has offered a glowing acknowledgement of Crime Stoppers programs and the many volunteers who contribute to the program’s success.

The letter follows releases from Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty commending the organization during National Crime Stoppers Month. Specifically, the Commissioner points to the theme, “Helping to Stop, Solve and Prevent Crime Together”, the partnership between Crime Stopper programs, the public, the media and the various police organizations involved.

“In Canada, there are Crime Stopper programs in every province and territory, more than 100 programs providing Crime Stoppers coverage to over 4,000 Canadian communities.”

Crime Stoppers of Northwestern Ontario and Northern Minnesota covers a large region that extends from Roseau Minnesota to International Falls, Ignace Ontario to the Manitoba border and all points north. Our program’s success depends upon the relationship with our generous sponsors and donors. To help out with a donation, please click the link below.
